Coaches
In order for DMSA to deliver a fun, exciting, and organized season of soccer, we need the help of parents, guardians, family members, and friends to serve as volunteer coaches.
- Per Canada Soccer's Rule to Two, each team requires two coaches (one male and one female) and as such, we are always in need of coaches.
- No background in soccer or coaching is required for the U5, U7, or U9 age groups.
- We support our coaches through approved training programs and grassroots instruction.
Volunteer coaches will receive:
- The opportunity to participate in a coaches clinic.
- A manual of suggested drill activities for your age group.
- Support from the coaches coordinator.
- All necessary equipment including balls, cones, nets, etc.
New financial compensation for coaches:
- Starting this year, Didsbury Minor Soccer is now offering coaches the option to receive a 50% refund on the child's 2024 soccer registration fee, up to a maximum of $50.
- The refund may be requested at the end of the season, contingent on the coach completing the season.
- The refund amount is available to each coach and more than one refund is available if the person coaches more than one team.
Volunteer coaches will be required to:
- Register for an NCCP # (free online registration)
- Obtain a vulnerable sector check from the RCMP (free)
- Complete the Respect in Sport course (available online on demand requiring about 2.5 hours time)
All training costs for coaches are covered by Didsbury Minor Soccer.
